As of October 20, 2026: yes – telehealth and mail-based medication abortion remain available in the U.S. while a federal appeals case and an FDA review of mifepristone continue. If in-person dispensing is restored, mailed mifepristone would end after a transition period. Women in Virginia can get the complete mifepristone regimen from us by telehealth today, with pharmacy pickup or mail to a Virginia address, and we have a plan for any rule change.
Yes – as of this update, telehealth and mail-based medication abortion remain available in the United States. In May 2026 the Supreme Court ordered that current access rules stay in place while a federal appeals case (Louisiana v. FDA) proceeds, so nothing changes until that litigation and the related agency processes conclude. Two things are pending that could change this answer:
If either process restores in-person dispensing, U.S. services could no longer mail mifepristone after a transition period. Our Virginia telehealth service would not close: it would move to a misoprostol-only regimen through 12 weeks, and women near Virginia Beach could keep the complete regimen of Mifepristone plus Misoprostol by completing intake online and picking up mifepristone at our office.
Women located in Virginia who are no more than 14 weeks and 6 days pregnant can get the complete, FDA-approved mifepristone plus misoprostol regimen – the same one we dispense in person – through our telehealth service, without a visit to our office:
Pharmacy pickup is fastest (usually the same day) and nothing arrives at home; mail comes to you, at home or at a P.O. box. If you are near the gestational limit for medication abortion, choose pickup or an in-person visit, because shipping days count against the clock. ; we can arrange mail only if your medication will arrive before you pass 14 weeks and 6 days. Want to talk to a clinician again after your visit? Just ask – by phone or in person, at no extra cost.
We do not provide telehealth to anyone outside Virginia or send medication outside Virginia. You can receive care from us in two ways – both entirely in Virginia.
Come to our Virginia Beach office. You can receive the complete two-medication regimen (FDA-approved mifepristone and misoprostol) through 14 weeks and 6 days under our clinical protocols, or an in-clinic procedure through 27 weeks 6 days, usually in a single visit, with an ultrasound and a clinician you can call afterward.
Or come to the nearest point inside Virginia. If the drive to Virginia Beach is too far, you can travel to any location inside Virginia, have your telehealth video visit there, and pick up your medication at a Virginia pharmacy before you go home – so that all of your medical care happens in Virginia. At the start of your video visit, our counselor will confirm on the recording that you are in Virginia. Telehealth care uses a mifepristone and misoprostol regimen without an ultrasound, so we screen carefully, and we may ask you to come to our office if anything in your history calls for it. Before you leave Virginia, we will go over what to expect after you take your medication at home, the warning signs to watch for, how to reach us day or night, and where to go if you need emergency care. For free, confidential legal questions at any point, call the If/When/How Repro Helpline at 844-868-2812.
Care starts at $295, and funding help exists.

If in-person dispensing is restored for mifepristone: U.S. services could no longer mail mifepristone or send it to pharmacies, after a transition period. Our Virginia telehealth service would not close. It would offer a misoprostol-only regimen through 12 weeks by pharmacy pickup or mail, and women who can reach Virginia Beach could keep the complete regimen by completing intake online and picking up mifepristone at our office – nothing mailed. The complete regimen in person, usually in one visit, continues as always.
If prescriber rules change: Federal rules may change which clinician types can prescribe mifepristone. We will update this page and our protocols; our practice includes physicians and advanced practice clinicians, and in-person care continues in every scenario.
If nothing changes: Mail-based options continue and this page will say so.
As of 20/10/2026, yes — U.S. telehealth services continue to operate under current federal rules. Your own state’s laws may affect what services will ship to you; the directories ineedana.com and AbortionFinder.org list current options by state.
Rule changes include transition periods and do not affect medication you already have. If you have questions about pills you have received, the Miscarriage & Abortion Hotline (833-246-2632) offers free, confidential medical advice from licensed clinicians.
